Step on a crack, you marry a rat!!

I skipped along the pavement clutching my notebook and pen, dodging the cracks as I went. The Enrich@ILT newspaper group were on their way to the library to do a bit of looking at published newspapers from all over the South Island. We were getting ideas for our own newspaper!

I scribbled down my ideas as I flicked the pages of the newspaper. The nice smell of the newspapers made me feel relaxed but focused. It was dead quiet in the library. I could hear others people's pens jotting down ideas, and the soft breaths of the other people in the library. After 7 or 8 newspapers we decided to go back to Enrich. I now have six ideas of what I might do in the newspaper and I am very excited about starting to write it.

Fingers crossed

My fingers were crossed as hard as they could cross!! Nicola was handing out invitations for helping write the newspaper, I really wanted to get in and it was getting down to the last three invitations "Lucy" Nicola called out. I did a little scream inside and got my invitation. I was relived and so glad to be in. I can't wait till next week to start!!

Round and round and round goes my pen!!

Today I wrote a new goal, for the remainder of the year, for the goal tree. We first got a little paper person and we decorated it to look like us. I designed a beautiful rainbow dress for my doll, with squiggles. On the back of these dolls, we put our new goals. My goal for term three is To Complete A Successful Project about my Families  Past.

See you all in Term three!!

Tricky day!!

Hello!! I thought I would give you all an update on how my passion project is going!! A reminder of what I am doing is MADE awards which is a competition on entering photos. I am going to take some photos this week and hopefully show you all!!

Today I printed off some editing sheets so I have ideas on how to edit my photos!! Some new editing things I learnt were that cameras have a button that makes your whole photo in black in white!! I was meant to be editing my photos today but I had some problems of taking the photos and things so I plan to do that next week.
I also printed off a sheet to take home with photography tips so I can get a really good photo and hopefully win!! (Or at least get a placing).

My project I am doing can be tricky because sometimes you can have troubles along the way so you have to re-plan your day I had that problem today.

I can't wait to show you all my photos!!!!!!

Gifted Awareness Week!!

The soft icing covered in love heart shaped sprinkles melted in my mouth as I munched on my red velvet cupcake, and I sipped away on my hot  milo!! This week is Gifted awareness week and to celebrate we had a small morning tea, and man was it yum. For those of you who don't know about Gifted awareness week, its a week when we celebrate about peoples Giftedness. Have you heard of the saying A Tall Poppy this is all about gifted people stand tall and don't care what others think. Some people cut down those poppies so they are all the same but really we should let them shine.

P.s If you have any ideas of what I should take a photo of for the MADE awards then please comment thank you!!

Click Click Cheese!

Yay!!! Today was our first week of passion projects!! This year I am entering a static image into the MADE Awards. For those of you who don't know what the MADE Awards are, I will explain. It is a contest that is on every year, and you can enter all types of photos, documentaries and that kind of thing. If you want to check out what people have done over the years then you can go to www.madeawards.com and see for yourself.

This week I typed up some photography tips,  and some good ideas of good things to take a photo of. Here are some hints on how to take a great photo.....

A plain background is good so your object stands out more.
On sunny days turn your flash on so the sunlight doesn't effect your photo too badly.
On cloudy days turn your flash on full mode (if it has one).
To make your photos come to life a bit more,  aim your camera slightly off-centre to the main part of the photo.
Don't like the sunlight?  Then take your photos in the morning or the evening.

Hope that helped you a bit. It helped me a lot because I hope to go to Queens Park soon and take some photos using them tips.

I think and hope my MADE awards project will work out!!

Check Mate!

Boom Madison's rook planted itself right in front of my kings face. Unfortunately, I couldn't take it because her Queen would kill me. So my brain ticked away while I was playing chess with Madison trying to think of a plan. All I had left on the board was a king and a pawn, and Madison had a queen, her king, her rook, her bishops, and some of her pawns.

There goes my pawn I mumbled to myself. This game wasn't going great and the worst part about it was that I was higher then her on the leader board, but not anymore. In the end Madison got me in check mate and that was the end of chess.

Even though Madison bet me I think I still have enough skill to bet you maybe Jason....
